New approach delivers new leads

Client: Kent OT

This private Occupational Therapy practice needed strategic guidance on how to grow their business and what marketing communication strategies would deliver the best results for their highly specialised OT provision.

The challenge

Kent Occupational Therapy have been offering a specialist multi-sensory remembrance groups to care homes in the Kent Area along with more individual 1-2-1 home assessments to predominantly older adults in the East Kent area. They had recognised that there was a need for some significant growth and wanted guidance to progress and a fresh viewpoint on their situation.

Our approach

To look at their service offering from a client's perspective and to consider the market in which they are operating. Following that, conduct research to make a recommendation as to what activity should be engaged upon to deliver more leads and a mechanism to convert these leads to clients.

Project specifics

We initially looked at the overall business and Philip Pilgrim from Smart Support reviewed their budgets, profit and loss accounts to help steer the project. By the use of a variety of diagnostic tools we have developed, we ran some competitor analysis against some other local and national practices and established their own strengths?, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. We then looked to develop clear customer profiles that could be approached and what their specific needs might be.

The outcome

Following a second review meeting with Kent OT we developed the core message for their services and a set of smart objectives. By reviewing the promotional mix available, within their budget, we made a series of recommendations along with a timed activity plan.

The next steps

Kent OT decided to take the plan we had produced and run with it themselves as they felt that they had the tools at their disposal to deliver the plan.

Our client said

Katherine and Phil helped us look at our business with new eyes. We were feeling quite despondent and didn't know in which direction to turn. They challenged us on some of our 'limited' thinking and helped us step out of our comfort zone and present our business in new and different ways. This gave us a fresh confidence and helped us to approach potential new clients and also existing clients with a different attitude.
Since working with them we have had a number of meetings and have approached these opportunities with a better understanding of how to best present our business.
We have since begun a new initiative within our business which is proving to be a great success.
