Get in Touch

This is where you decide what strategies you are going to adopt:

This is quite often where many people start their marketing activity. They decide to put an ad in Kent Messenger because someone called them up and offered them a great deal on a last-minute space and then think they have done their marketing and wonder why the phone isn’t ringing!

If you haven’t gone through the previous steps how do you know if an advert in the KM is the best way to communicate with your prospective clients?

Not all marketing has to cost a bomb there are some very cost-effective strategies that you can probably deliver yourself that will have a high impact. Here are a few examples that you might want to consider

  • Website – Now more than ever a decent digital presence is important. This is your shop window. Most of us, if we are looking for a product or service, will google it. If you have decent SEO and they find you on google and then go through to your website will your website help convert the prospect to a client or is it seriously out of date and might put people off? Think about investing some time and possibly some budget on getting your website right. If you have had to change your services in the light of covid restrictions make sure you tell people. They aren’t psychic and it will give them peace of mind to know that you have thought about this
  • Social Media – Statistics are supporting the fact that people are spending much more time than ever on social platforms and if you don’t have up to date and relevant content there then you are missing a trick. This is where you can tell more of your story and offer free advice that will really make a difference.  Don’t neglect this useful communication tool.
  • Networking – Virtual networking is the new normal. It’s all very well pitching up but make sure you get the most out of it. Set yourself some goals that make you accountable. Connect with people and make sure you follow up afterwards. Arrange 1-2-1’s with people that might be able to help you or even be a potential customer you have nothing to lose.
  • Email Marketing – If you have a database, make sure you use it. There are plenty of stats that prove that email marketing is one of the highest delivering methods for delivering sales. Keep in touch with your customers, send out a monthly newsletter telling them what you are doing to keep them and your staff safe with your covid protocols in place for example. Tell them about new services or products that you have and keep them up to date. It can take a minimum of 3 times for a message to sink in. Think how many times amazon email you but on one day when you know you need to buy that birthday present, just cos they emailed you, you might put that order in. The same applies to your business. Keep tapping away. You aren’t bothering people you are keeping them up to date! They can always unsubscribe

These strategies you may be able to deliver yourself but it will take time and effort but perhaps not as much budget as you might think. Whatever you do remember your strategies need to be aimed at achieving your specific smart goals that we outlined in Step 7 and how might you measure the success well check out Step 9 to find out
